New York City has hundreds of dog walkers to choose from. And there are a number of large dog walking companies out there who provide a great service and of whom their clients are very satisfied. But a large dog walking company isn't for everyone, and many people prefer to use a smaller walking service like mine - they much prefer the idea of having the same walker build up a relationship with their dog. The more familiar a dog is with their walker, the more secure they feel and the more likely they are to respect the person who takes care of them everyday. I have built up very close relationships with every dog I've ever walked and it shows by the excitement they display when I arrive to walk them.

In all my time as a dog walker in NYC I have never once felt dread upon waking in the morning and I can't wait to get to work - how many people can say that about their jobs? There's another important factor in choosing the right dog walker for your dog - are you looking for someone you can build a friendly dialog with, someone who knows your dog like the back of their hand and whom you can communicate with at any time of the day or night in matters relating to them? Someone who can reinforce the things your trainer has initiated, someone who provides in depth and helpful feedback relating to the progress of your dog? It's important to be in close contact with your dog walker especially in the early stages. If these things are important to you, then choose a dog walker to whom walking dogs and caring for animals is second nature, someone who walks dogs because there's nothing else they'd rather be doing and not just because they need the money.

Petsitting

Similarly, your choice of pet sitter is important. Do you want somebody who actually stays with your pets in the evening and who doesn't see their responsibilities as strictly limited to the walks, feeding and sleeping over? With me you can be absolutely sure your pets spend their evenings in the company of someone who has all the time in the world for animals. Believe me, I get just as much out of pet sitting as your pets will! Your cat wants to play? No problem! They can pester me as much as they like. Fido insists on a ten minute belly-rub before bed? Well who am I to say no! I can promise you that during the course of one pet sitting session, your pets will form a bond with me that will make them forget all about the stress of being away from their owners. I won't go so far as to suggest they will actually look forward to you going away, but their time with me will be fun and fulfilling - that's a promise!
